Anna-Kate Visser

Anna-Kate obtained her qualifications from Australian National University having graduated from Law with First Class Honours.

Anna-Kate has worked exclusively in Family Law since her admission and joined Yeend & Associates Family Lawyers in 2015 after previously working for a Canberra Legal Practice. While Anna-Kate grew up in Canberra, early in her career she travelled to the Northern Territory to work for Legal Aid (NT) and the Central Australian Aboriginal Legal Service in Alice Springs. Anna-Kate has a strong social conscience and has also volunteered with the ACT Youth Law Centre, Womens Legal Centre ACT and cares for rescue dogs from a local animal welfare organisation.

Anna-Kate appears in the Family Law Courts and ACT Magistrates and Childrens Courts and has a research interest in relocation matters and family law matters involving same sex relationships. Anna-Kate is known in the office for her no nonsence approach to negotiated parenting and property matters and she is a qualified Collaborative Law practitioner and a member of Canberra Collaborative Family Lawyers. Anna-Kate encourages client’s to consider this alternative dispute resolution model when trying to keep matters out of Court. Anna-Kate aims to acheive workable outcomes for her client’s in a timely and cost effective way with as little harm to the family unit as possible.
